In the Anointing of the Sick, there are three key moments to an integral celebration of this sacrament: the moments of prayer, the imposition of hands, and the anointing.

In celebrating this sacramental mystery there should be a great concern for conveying the truth that the sick person is united to the mystery of Christ’s own sufferings. There is the need to convey the presence of the mystery of God’s never-failing love and support, even in the midst of diseases we cannot cure, pain we cannot fathom, and the aging process we cannot stop.
